About the event

Sesc Partituras is a project developed by the National Department of Sesc since 2012 and arose from the demand to disseminate Brazilian musical production, filling a gap in access and distribution of scores by composers of written music. Its actions include a digital library, a series of concerts, debates and sheet music editions, through activities carried out in conjunction with the Regional Departments and Centers of the National Department.

The platform (www.sescpartituras.sesc.com.br) offers free access to all almost 3,000 available scores, allowing you to download and print the works. Among the more than 300 composers that make up the collection we have names such as Chiquinha Gonzaga, Ernesto Nazareth, Francisco Mignone, Letieres Leite and Victor Assis Brasil.

The Sesc Partituras concerts are held throughout the country and aim to disseminate the scores that are included in the virtual library. This creates feedback between collection and practice, making the collection dynamic while providing the general public with contact with the works.

Oh, open the way I want to pass: a Brazilian identity in Concert Music is a small slice of the richness of our music, a tour of works for solo piano by Chiquinha Gonzaga, duos for violin and cello by composers Luiz Amato and Toninho Ferragutti and trios for piano, violin and cello by Lorenzo Fernandez and Guerra Peixe.

Curation: Adriana Holtz
